WVCS Code of Ethics
WVCS teachers and employees agree at all times to be an example of the believer in all things to
the students and to his/her co-workers and to be governed by scriptural
standards which remind us “to walk in a
manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility
and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love,
being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in bond and peace.”(Ephesians 4:1-3)
As a classroom Teacher...
1. Ensure the safety and supervision of all students at the school, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Supervision includes outside of regular classroom assignments and implement active supervision. 2. Perform his/her duties as a teacher, with timely,
accurate, and fair grading of student work, with well prepared and well
presented daily lessons, with the availability and prudent use of daily extra
help time with individual students, with the maintaining of good discipline and
good morale amongst the students, and with the faithful integration of the
Spirit, truth, and relevance of the Living Word, throughout his/her teaching
ministry. 3. Maintain a quiet, dignified, well-disciplined, and studious classroom, study hall or work group. 4. Teach stewardship to help maintain the school grounds and facilities so they are clean and in good repair. 5. Avoid highly controversial topics as much as possible, especially as they relate to denominational issues.Issues such as the sequence of events of the last times, mode of baptism after conversion, etc., are to be avoided and referred to the individual’s local church.
As a Professional...
1. Remain certified by the State of Arizona and ACSI (Association of Christian
Schools International) to teach and otherwise comply with the teaching duties
and functions required by the School. 2. Abide by and maintain any and all School
policies, requirements, Statement of
Faith, and shall sign all applications, forms and other documents related
thereto. 3. Will not discriminate against any School student, School faculty
member and/or School administrative staff on the basis of race, color, national
and/or ethnic origin or intellectual capacity. 4. Recognizes and acknowledge that the School is a Christian
organization whose educational objectives include teaching fundamental
Christian principles to School students by instruction and by personal behavior as further delineated in the Employment Contract, in
all academic subjects. 5. Understand his/her obligations
under state law regarding child abuse reporting requirements and that he/she
will fulfill those obligations. 6. Understand that teaching duties are the teacher's obligations. These duties are personal in nature and are unique and peculiar to said Employee.Therefore, without School’s prior
written consent, said Employee shall not assign, transfer, sell, encumber,
pledge or allow other individuals to take on these responsibilities. 7. Arrive on time, 30 minutes prior to the start of the school day while participating in after school meetings/trainings as required by administration. 8. Follow the biblical pattern of Matthew 18:15-17 and Galatians 6:1 and always give a good report.All differences are to be resolved by utilizing biblical principles. 9. Adhere to Proverbs 31:4-5 and Ephesians 5:18 in regards to alcohol, and abstain from the use of tobacco, drugs, and the use of profane language.Discretion should be employed in activities and entertainment. 10. Make every effort to live at peace and to resolve disputes with each other in private or within the Christian community in conformity and the biblical injunctions of I Corinthians 6:10-8, Matthew 5:23-24, and Matthew 18:15-20.Disputes shall be settled by biblically-based mediation.
As a Christian Leader...
1. Be a born-again Christian. 2. Attend and participate in an evangelical, Bible-believing church while encouraging students to do the same. 3. Be present and on time for faculty devotions. 4. Understand the importance of being pure sexually.I Corinthians 6:18-20 and I Thessalonians 4:3 explicitly state we are to abstain from sexual immorality if we desire to glorify God and accomplish His will. 5. Agrees that from creation, God has designed marriage to be the union of a husband and wife.Furthermore, He has defined certain unique roles and contributions that the male and female bring to marriage (see Genesis 2:23-25; Ephesians 5:21-29; I Peter 5:1-7; I Corinthians 11:3).As such, God’s design and plan includes only heterosexual marriage and relationships that lead to marriage.
WVCS Statement of Faith a)We
believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word
of God. b)We
believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:Father, Son and Holy Spirit. c)We
believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His
sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His
shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of
the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. d)We
believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy
Spirit is absolutely essential. e)We
believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the
Christian is enabled to live a godly life. f)We
believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved
unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of
damnation. g)We
believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
WVCS Mission West Valley Christian School, in partnership with the family, equips students to discover and develop their talents and spiritual gifts in order to live a life of service, impacting the world for Christ.
